Nei Maldaner left Porto Alegre on November 11st, 2006 for an incredible adventure. He is crossing the Antarctic continent, on board of the ship ice-break Kapitan Khlebnikov. Check the report that he sent to us in November 28th!

The trip is quite slowly, due to amount of icebergs. We are seven days stopped in the middle of the ice, we sometimes walked just 20 kilometers in the whole day. We flew of helicopter when it's possible, therefore we are in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, there are 300 kilometers of the continent and we cannot get off the ship.

When we got to advance a little, usually, we were surrounded by icebergs and we are forced to return, we were sometimes all the day making zigzag in the ice. This trip is very different from my first trip to Antarctica. Meanwhile, I am studying and analyzing the animals that live here.

Even between so much ices, we are very well! I have a cabin for myself, what allowed me to organize my equipment better. I am also taking advantage of to study English a lot (I do not know very much), I am devoted to listen a lot, the whole time.

The people are extremely cool; there are people of several parts of the world, everybody with a lot of vitality to enjoy that adventure. I've been a good friend of some ladies of United States, which live in Miami, a boy of New York and a couple from Barcelona, Spain, that invited me to visit them. My table is generally the happiest; there is some Duchess quite entertaining.

My health is going well, I just caught some irritation in the throat, but it already passed. I am sometimes a little cold, of being outside the whole time. It is much colder than in the first trip, fortunately I brought many coats.

Everybody has many cameras and equipments, we changed clues and we learned with each other. I take pictures and I make filming whenever is possible. As soon as I can, I will send more news and I will send the photos of my adventure, as I did as soon as I arrived in Ushuaia. Because the photos illustrated in that matter are of Quark Expedition.
