Du Nunes was one of the participant freeriders of 9° Jet Waves World Championship, that happened at the Brave Beach, in the city of Itajaí, in Santa Catarina, between the 7 and September 9, 2007. Check as it went to its participation!

Do you know what your limit is? Up to where you would go for passion to something? The freerider Du Nunes was far, until his limit. Even with pneumonia, he participated in the 9th Jet Waves that happened between the 7 and September 9, 2007, in the Brave Beach, in the port city of Itajaí, in Santa Catarina/BR.

On Tuesday, September 4, it was everything ready to go for the competition that participates five years ago. Even so, on that same day was diagnosed that was with pneumonia. It was a shock, but the treatment began immediately. Though, the worst was to conform himself in not participating, in not ride a jet-ski.

This guy full of claw and determination, that resides in Tubarão, also in Santa Catarina, he was already champion of the World Amateur of Free Ride, and he began in the world of the freeride in 1992. For Jet Waves, due to the problem of health, he tried arrie late to have excuse in not participate, but it didn't work, because the batteries of Sit-Down had not begun when he arrived.

If it was not enough, his jet-ski brooked, but a friend lent him another. Du understood, after happened whole thing, that he should compete. What helped on that hour was the friends' support, like Ivo Sehn. He believes that Jet Waves is in the pattern of a world championship, because pilots of point of several places of the world attended.

Without forgetting that everybody that came here are in the fight for the world final that will be in October, in California, in the USA. The fact of the Brazil doesn't be the headquarter of the last stage of the world is already a novelty, then as they know has a lot of point running, and the pilots came to increase the punctuation, what increases the adrenaline and the maneuvers in the sea.

"The Brave Beach has a differential because the undulation, in the sea, is very fast and dug. The pilot has to have plenty of experience in waves, because he cannot play. If the guy passes a little bit of the time in the jump, he is really subject to take an enormous of a cake in the wave", he says about the conditions of the place chosen to be the headquarter of the competition.

Unhappily, due to the patronage lack, he says that: "that was one year that I decided not to do anything, I stopped completely, besides with the trainings. The one that I think is a feather, because as well as me, there is lots of people that has conditions of being representing Brazil in several competitions, not only in the jet-ski, but in another sports. But, unhappily, for support lack, they end doesn't tend conditions of participating in competitions".

To change that hard reality for the patronage search, he believes that, in first place, he should have a project of the federal government, as it exists the culture secretary, tourism and sports today, in Santa Catarina. That federal project should support any sport type.

He believes that the companies should not contribute with 5% of its ICMS and yes with 20, up to 30%. But for that the athletes would need to have professionalism and responsibility. "Because sport is education. If the schools began to motivate the sport, the violence would finish slowly. Because the violence is nothing else than result of the education lack", increases.
