The freeride is divided in maneuvers and surf, each one with a characteristic radicalism. Check which is the pilots' relationship with the maneuvers and the challenges.
"Hard work" is the order word for who wants to practice a sport seriously. Besides this, discipline, dedication and determination are indispensable ingredients. In the freeride, the necessary technique to accomplish the jumps is only reached after a lot of training and perseverance, because it is necessary to have courage, to win the fear and to proceed in front.
The pilots begin in different ways. The first maneuvers are not always same ones. Tiago Geitens and Joicy Mirella, for example, began with an invert, turn where the pilot has to give a turn of 180° and to return in front of the beach. For Mirella the largest obstacle went to balance lack, because she was not accustomed to be on top of foot of the jet-ski.
Already for the freeriders Alexandre Buneder and Bruno Jacob the difficulty in accomplishing the tuno, the first maneuver, went to courage. The tuno or barrel roll consist of a turn of 360° that the pilot does in turn of his own axis. That maneuver can be treacherous. Because to accomplish it is not the most difficult, what complicates it is to accomplish perfectly.
The freeride pilots always look for new maneuvers to overcome new challenges. The new maneuvers are summarized, basically, to the maneuvers old plus new components. In 9th Jet Waves, for example, the French pilot Pierre Maixent showed a new maneuver, the back flip 'Madona', where the pilot gives a turn of 360° back and loosens of the jet, in the air, a leg and an arm!
For more tiresome than it can seem, it is necessary that there are countless repetitions of a maneuver so that the same is accomplished with mastery. You begin with simpler maneuvers as the invert or inverted. After that maneuver be already being accomplished with easiness, almost automatically, pass for another with a degree of larger difficulty.
You will get like this to accomplish the maneuver correctly, in the right speed and in the right time. Over the trust in what you are doing and with an appropriate equipment. One of the riskiest maneuvers, according to Bruno, is the back flip no hands, in that the pilot executes a back flip with great height and removes the hands when is very high.
A good clue to learn new maneuvers and new execution methods is attending videos of championships and being inspired by the best, in the most audacious. How many times attend it is necessary until that takes courage to try new movements. When in a championship tries to vary the maneuvers, because many are the judge that like that.
It is also valid to render attention in the maneuvers of the motocross, because the freeride, for who does not know, was inspired by that sport. Try to workout with other freeriders, after all, the change of experiences can be a great lesson, unless you don't want to divide your secrets with the others. Now if your intention is to create a new maneuver, use all your creativity and courage and go ahead.
