Know about the skier Matthew Hallat, who competed in the Mens Standing category at the cadadian championship Telus Para-Alpine, in Sun Peaks, BC, from march 10th to 13th, 2008.
Matthew Hallat is skier for tem years, and with all his talent and experience, he achieves excellent results at the competitions that he participle. The competitor, from Coloquiam, in British Columbia (CAN), is member of Canadian Para-Alpine Ski Team.
At Telus, Matthew Hallat won the Men's standing skier category with a two-run time of 1:47.28. Hallat was fastest in the first run by almost three seconds and then held on in the second run for the win.
The skier confess that Slalom is his favorite modality in the alpine ski, e talk about the emotion of been the first placed: "Slalom is definitely my strongest event, It was a good couple days that I was looking forward to and I'm glad it went so well".
Matthew participates of the last tem seasons of Telus Canadian para-alpine ski. He's always registered by his team. According to him, this last season of Telus, had well organized events and attractions.
He dedicates himself just for the ski, and always race in competitions as Telus. Recently, he passed through hard difficulties do practice his sport. The athlete, who already is above knee amputee, had also a broken leg in the beginning of winter.
Even with some adversities, he doesn't discourage, and emphasizes, saying: "Ski is what I love to do". The athletes prepare himself for the competitions during all the year, and his next goal, is to participate and even win a title, in the 2010 Paralympics. To maintain his body well prepared for the races, he trains with his coach, six days a week.
Besides all dedication and Will to surpass limits, the skier also counts with his family's support: "They think it's great I practice ski" - says Matthew. Ever than is possible, his family follows him in the championships.
