The last day of 9° Jet Waves World Championship, that happened among them 7 and September 9, 2007, in the Brave Beach, in Itajaí, Santa Catarina, was a success. Check what happened!
At end of 9° Jet Waves left the Sunday shaken at the Brave Beach, in Itajaí, in Santa Catarina's state. The championship, that happened between the 7 and September 9, 2007, is the Brazilian stage, 4° stage of the circuit 2007, of the 3° World Championship IFWA of Freeride.
The Brazilians were not as far away as we would like, but they gave a beautiful show in the maneuvers and radicals jumps, as in the surf, sliding in the waves with mastery and freedom. Who attended of the sand was intoxicated with so much beauty and courage. The pilots showed that they are a tribe the part, moved by adrenaline and challenges.
The activities of Sunday began about nine o'clock, when the dispute of the octave-of-final began. The waves were lower than in the previous days, what didn't harm in anything the pilots' acting, that they gave a show, with many back flips, touneau, can can and other incredible maneuvers.
Finished the octaves, the involved were liberated for the lunch, where the expectation to the finals was the subject at issue. In the afternoon they began the ¼ of finals and also some surprises. As French Gil Beurnier's victory on Ross Champion and the one of French Aurelian Mejean, on Ivo Sehn, that is three times champion in Jet Waves.
Another unexpected fact was the pilots' of the competition acting: Tiago Geitens, Bruno Jacob and Leandro Vieira, that was in fourth place in Stand-Up category and in third in the category Sit-Down. The three participated very well in the competition, and Tiago made his first Back flip, that is a maneuver in that the jet gives a turns back.
And who also gave a show was Douglas Carvalho, of Goiás, that made a double back flip. It was fantastic. Everybody was in the largest excitement in the seashore, not believing in what was seeing. With certainty the moment will be kept in the memory of all the presents.
Everybody was apprehensive in the ¼ of finals, in the expectation to know which would be the results. For the ½ finals, were classified Gil Beunier against Leandro Vieira, and Jeremy Philips against Pierre Maixent. The four razed in the sea with his jet-skis. They showed why they came.
The dispute of the end of the category Stand-Up was among two French pilots: Pierre Maixent and Gil Beurnier. Who took the best was Pierre that won the first place in the category stand-up, and the second place in the category Sit-Down, where the winner was Jimmy Visser, of South Africa.
The Brazilian stage of the World Championship of Freeride finished in great style, with sun, great waves and a great public that attended for look the event. The organization was meticulous and did great.
