Conheça a Internacional Freeride WaterCraft Association, IFWA uma associação de pilotos e organizadores criada há 7 anos para regulamentar o esporte no mundo, trabalhar junto aos organizadores e pilotos filados a entidade.

A FWA (Freeride WaterCraft Association) foi criada em 1999 na Califórnia, pelo Sr. Jimbeau Andrews com intuito de regularizar um novo esporte que começava a despontar no cenário internacional, o Freeride, que consiste em fazer manobras com jet ski nas ondas, saltando e surfando. Jimbeau criou o estatuto da entidade, o primeiro regulamento e ainda organizou durante quatro anos, o Califórnia Wave Bash.

Em 1999, Marcelo "Tchello" Brandão, também organizou a primeira prova de Freeride no Brasil, chamado Jet Wves e por coincidência, o regulamento criado por ele, era muito semelhante ao da FWA. Também por coincidência nasceu na França também no mesmo ano o Jet Jump, também disputado em ondas, mas com o diferencial de julgar apenas as manobras de salto.

O freeride também ganhou grande impulso na África do Sul e juntamente com o Brasil foram os primeiros países a fazer parte da FWA. A partir de 2002 o Jet Waves passou a ser considerado pela FWA como o campeonato mundial de freeride. O evento cresceu, e hoje é considerado um dos mais importantes do mundo pela diversidade de pilotos de países diferentes e interesse da mídia mundial pelo mesmo.

O Freeride vem crescendo muito, sendo hoje praticado em vários países. A intenção da FWA é unificar o regulamento em todos eles e integrá-los à associação para assim fortalecer o esporte no mundo, e também criar um circuito mundial. Em uma reunião histórica para o Freeride mundial, durante o Jet Jump em Montalive na França, dirigentes da FWA, os organizadores do Jet Jump, Srs. Jac Mouzan e Patrick Rolland e pilotos de várias partes do mundo decidiram por dar um up-great na associação, unir os regulamentos, e criar uma entidade internacional reconhecida pelos principais pilotos e organizadores no mundo. Nascia a IFWA (Intenational Freeride WaterCraft Association).

Na seqüência, Portugal, Espanha, Itália e San Martin (responsável pela América Central) uniram-se a nova federação e em 2005 tivemos o primeiro campeonato mundial com cinco etapas em Portugal, Espanha, França, USA e Brasil. Atualmente, o brasileiro Marcelo "Tchello" Brandao é o presidente da associação, que promove o segundo campeonato mundial, o Free Ride Nations Cup.

Know the Internacional Freeride WaterCraft Association, IFWA, is a riders and organizers' association, created 7 years ago for regularize this sport in the world and works with organizers and riders affiliate in the association.

The FWA (Freeride WaterCraft Association) was created in 1999 on California, for Mister Jimbeau Andrews with goal regularize a new sport that started appear in the international scene, the Freeride, where the players have to make maneuvers with jet ski on the waves, jumping and surfing. Jimbeau created association's statute, the first rules and for 4 years organized the Califórnia Wave Bash.

In 1999, Marcelo "Tchello" Brandão, organized the first free ride's championship, in Brazil, called Jet Waves and for coincidence, statute was very similar with FWA. For coincidence, too, in French was born the Jet Jump, dispute on waves, too, but only the jump maneuvers was judge.

Freeride grew up a lot in South Africa and with Brazil were the first countries to enter in FWA. Since 2002 the Jet Waves pass to be considering for FWA like Freeride world championship. The event grew up, today is consider one of the most important world championship for the diversity of riders, countries and media interest around the world.

Freeride is growing a lot and today it is practiced in several countries, and the intention of the IFWA is to unify the regulations in all of the countries, to integrate them into the association thus strengthening the sport in the world, and also to create a world circuit. In a historical meeting for world Freeride, during the Jet Jump in Montalivet in France, leaders of the FWA, Jet Jump organizers Mr. Jac Mouzan and Patrick Rolland and pilots from various parts of the world decided to unite the regulations, and to create an international entity recognized by the main pilots and organizers in the world. The IFWA (International Freeride Watercraft Association) was born.

Since then, Portugal, Spain, Italy and San Martin (responsible for Central America) have joined the new federation and in 2005 we had the first world championship with 5 rounds, Portugal, Spain, France, USA and Brazil. Actually the Brazilian Marcelo "Tchello" Brandao is association's president, promote the second world championship, the o Free Ride Nations Cup.
