O Marcelo "Tchello" Brandão, de São Paulo/SP é presidente da IFWA International Freeride Watercraft Association que organizou o Bali Free Ride, realizado nos dias 2 e 3 de setembro de 2006, em Bali. Tchello contou a equipe INEMA como foi a experiência.

Há dez meses, cerca de 20 pessoas trabalhavam na organização desse belo evento, que reuniu 18 pilotos de todas as partes do mundo. Segundo Tchello, organizar esse evento foi muito bom e o resultado superou todas as expectativas: "Ano que vem, estaremos aqui novamente", promete.

Essa foi a primeira vez que um país asiático recebeu o Free Ride e de acordo com a IFWA serviu para abrir as portas da Ásia para esse esporte. Indra Noen, o organizador local, é membro da Associação e se encarregou de montar o circo e fazer a divulgação. "A IFWA fez a parte técnica do evento", explica Tchello.

Na parte técnica está a logística e burocracia, de enviar os jets de um país para outro, que para Tchello é a parte mais difícil da organização. Já a confraternização com vários amigos e em vários lugares do mundo é o mais gratificante nesse evento.

Nos dois dias do campeonato na paradisíaca ilha, as ondas foram sensacionais: "A qualidade estava perfeita, o mar estava ótimo com cerca de 2 metros de ondas!" Além do clima excelente, a cidade recebeu o evento de braços abertos: "O povo daqui é muito receptivo", afirma.

Dentro da programação teve várias apresentações de danças típicas, jantares e shows, o que animou ainda mais a integração entre os participantes. "O Free Ride tem esse diferencial, os pilotos são muito unidos", acredita.

O nível técnico dos pilotos era excelente, pois os melhores estavam reunidos lá. Duas categorias foram disputadas, a SitDown, onde o piloto compete sentado e a StandUp, onde os participantes andam em pé no jet. A Coca cola e governo local foram os principais patrocinadores do Bali Free Ride.

Tchello e os outros organizadores já estão pensando na próxima etapa do evento, realizada no Brasil, dias 24 25 e 26 de novembro em Imbituba/SC e será o 8º Jet Waves World Championship, onde os pilotos disputarão a final do campeonato mundial de 2006.

Tchello agradece a todo o staff que trabalhou em Bali, "a equipe do Inema que como sempre foi fantástica e meus irmãos que seguram a onda por mim enquanto estou viajando para realizar os eventos", finaliza.

Tchello behind the Bali Free Ride

The manager Marcelo "Tchello" Brandão, from São Paulo/SP IFWA International Freeride Watercraft Association's president, organized Bali Free Ride, happened in September, 2nd and 3rd 2006, in Bali Island, Indonesia. Tchello tells for INEMA how was the experience.

For ten months, about 20 people work in organization of this wonderful event, 18 riders from some parts of the world was join the championship. Tchello says that organize this was very good and results topped expectation: "Next year, we will be here again", promise.

Was the first time that a Asian country receives the Free Ride and for IFWA served to open the doors in Asia for this sport. Indra Noen, local organizer, association's member, was responsible for make the circus and divulgate. "The IFWA did event's technical part", explain Tchello.

Technical part is logistic and bureaucracy, like send jets from one country to other, which for Tchello is the most difficulty in the organization. But the confraternization with a lot of friends in different places are the most gratification.

In two days of championship in that perfect Island, the waves was sensational: "The quality was perfect, the sea was great with waves about 2 meters!" In that place the weather was excellent, the city receives event with open arms: "The people here is very receptive", says.

In the program had a lot of dance typical's show, dinners and parties that animated much more the participants' integration. "The Free Ride has this differential, riders are very united", believe.

The riders' technical level was excellent, because the best riders were there. Two categories were disputed, SitDown, where the rider plays sit on the jet and StandUp, where the person plays on foot on jet. Coca cola and local government were principal sponsors' of Bali Free Ride.

Tchello and other organizers already thinking in the next round, that will happen in Brazil, November 24th 25th and 26th, in Imbituba Beach/SC and will the 8º Jet Waves World Championship, where the riders will dispute the world championship's big final.

Tchello thanks for all staff that works in Bali, "Inema team, was fantastic and my brothers that help me when I'm traveling to realize the events", ends.
