Mesmo com tempo chuvoso e muito vento, nos dias 4 e 5 de novembro de 2006, alguns pilotos participaram do primeiro treino de reconhecimento na Praia da Vila, em Imbituba/SC, local do Campeonato Mundial de Freeride (manobras de jet ski nas ondas).

O líder do mundial na categoria Stand Up (jet em pé) o italiano Frederico Bufacchi e os brasileiros Du Nunes, campeão Mundial amador da Sit Down (jet sentado) em 2003 e Leandro Vieira que retorna as competições depois de ficar afastado por mais de seis meses devido a lesões no joelho, estiveram na Praia da Vila, juntamente com Tchello Brandão, presidente da IFWA, entidade internacional que regulamenta o esporte.

Os pilotos treinaram mesmo com as condições do tempo e do mar que não estavam apropriadas. Muito vento, chuva e poucas ondas. "Acho importante treinar em qualquer condição", comentou Leandro Vieira. "Se no dia da competição o tempo estiver assim já terei uma expectativa do que fazer", completou o piloto catarinense que disputará nas duas categorias.

Já o italiano Federico Bufacchi foi o primeiro estrangeiro a chegar ao local da competição buscando a melhor condição para a disputa. "O mar hoje está muito ruim, mas tenho que treinar, pois a disputa na última etapa vai ser forte e quem vencer pode ficar com o título deste ano", disse Federico que lidera o mundial na Stand Up com quatro pontos à frente do atual campeão, Pierre Maixent. Federico venceu em 2005 a etapa no Brasil.

Outro piloto catarinense que esteve no treino foi Du Nunes que quer repetir o resultado do ano passado e manter um lugar ao pódio. "Estou treinando mais forte agora e quero subir ao pódio. Estou fora da disputa do mundial, mas quero fazer uma boa apresentação na última etapa", disse Nunes.

O presidente da IFWA está bem otimista quanto a participação de outros pilotos, pois a cada dia mais inscrições são confirmadas. "Recebi a confirmação de mais dois pilotos brasileiros. O Douglas Carvalho que está morando na China já está viajando para o Brasil e é um forte concorrente, pois está treinando muito e fazendo apresentações de jet ski no exterior. Outro bom candidato é o catarinense Ivo Sehn Neto que é o atual vice-campeão mundial. Com outros pilotos estrangeiros que estão confirmados acho que essa etapa vai ser uma das melhores do ano", explicou Tchello.

O 8º Jet Waves, quarta e última etapa do Campeonato Mundial de Freeride será entre os dias 24 à 26 de novembro na Praia da Vila em Imbituba acontece sob supervisão da IFWA e da Federação Motoaquática do Estado de Santa Catarina (FEMOASC). O evento é patrocinado pela Malwee e pela Yamaha com apoio do Governo de Santa Catarina, da Prefeitura de Imbituba e da ProNáutica Jet Ski.

Riders train to Jet Ski's World Championship

Even with a bad weather, rain and wind, in the last weekend November 4th and 5th, some riders was in the first train de recognized in Vila Beach, in Imbituba, Jet Waves' place, Free Ride World Championship's Brazilian round (maneuvers with jet ski on the waves).

The world leader of Stand Up's class (jet on foot) Italian Federico Bufacchi and the Brazilians Du Nunes, world championship amateur of Sit Down's class (jet sitting) in 2003 and Leandro Vieira that return to compete after stay away for about six months due to knee's injury, was in Vila Beach, together with Tchello Brandão, IFWA's president, international association that regulate the sport.

The riders trained even with bad weather and sea's conditions. Wind strong, rain and little waves. "I think it's important train in any condition", says Leandro Vieira. "If competitions' day, the weather will be like today, I will have an idea for what to do", completed the local rider that will dispute two classes.

The Italian Federico Bufacchi was the first foreigner that arrived in championship's place searching the best condition to dispute. "Today the sea is very bad, but I have to train, because the dispute in last round must be strong and who win can stay with the title of this year" says Federico that's leader the world championship in Stand Up class with four points in front the actual champion, Pierre Maixent. Federico won in 2005 the Brazilian round. Another local rider that was training was Du Nunes. He wants repeat the result of last year and keeps a place in the podium. "I'm training stronger now and want win. I'm out of world dispute, but I want make a good show in the last round", says Nunes.

The IFWA's president is hopeful about participate the other riders, because day by day more inscriptions are confirmed. "I received the confirmation of two Brazilians riders. Douglas Carvalho that's living in China and already is traveling to Brazil, he's a strong player, because is training a lot and making jet ski's show abroad. Another good player is Ivo Sehn Neto, actual vice world champion. With others riders foreigner that are confirmed, I think this round will be one of the best of the year", explain Tchello.

The 8th Jet Waves, fourth and last round of Freeride World Championship will be from November 24th to 26th, in Vila Beach, Imbituba. The supervision is of IFWA and Motoaquatic Federation of Estado of Santa Catarina (FEMOASC). The event is sponsor for Malwee and Yamaha with support of Government of Santa Catarina, City Hall of Imbituba and ProNáutica Jet Ski.
