Tchello conta como foi a primeira etapa do mundial de free ride e diz quais são as expectativas para a segunda etapa. A primeira etapa do evento aconteceu de 13 a 15 de abril de 2007 em Portugal.

Marcelo Brandão, o Tchello, da Pró Náutica, que organiza o Campeonato Mundial de Free Ride, está em Zarautz, norte da Espanha, onde será realizada a segunda etapa do campeonato mundial. Ele afirma que já está tudo pronto para a etapa que acontecerá na Espanha, local onde o evento cresce a cada ano. Em 2006, o campeonato teve um público de 20.000 pessoas e muita mídia. A grande expectativa é que esse ano o número de admiradores aumente.

Nos dias 13, 14 e 15 de abril aconteceu a primeira etapa do evento em Portugal. Tchello disse que o nível técnico dos pilotos melhorou muito desde o ano passado. A abertura do campeonato aconteceu da melhor forma possível, com 48 pilotos, todos muito bons. As ondas estavam ótimas e o tempo ajudou bastante. Para a etapa seguinte, a previsão é de ondas pequenas, o que tornará a prova mais tranqüila.

Em relação aos anos anteriores, toda a estrutura do evento foi modificada e isso agradou aos pilotos e ao público. Segundo Tchello, estava difícil de adivinhar quem venceria a prova, pois todos os pilotos tiveram um ótimo desempenho. "A vitória de Ross Champion surpreendeu a todos, mas foi uma vitória merecida", fala.

O free ride ainda é um esporte novo, por isso enfrenta dificuldades como conseguir patrocínio. "É muito complicado conseguir patrocínio para um esporte novo", diz Tchello. O free ride ainda tem que se aprimorar, e o mundial é o principal campeonato da modalidade. "Muitas regras são criadas durante o Campeonato Mundial de Free Ride", conta.

Tchello diz que a organização estava muito boa, e que os pilotos ajudam a manter a organização. "É uma competição, mas além disso é bom estar entre os amigos, e os pilotos estão sempre conversando e rindo. Eles nos ajudam e se ajudam, o que é mais importante", fala.

1st round of the Free Ride World Championship

Tchello tells how was the first round of the world championship and says what are the expectatives to the second round. The first round of the event happened in April 13, 14 and 15 in Portugal.

In relation to the other years, all the structure was modified and this pleased the pilots and the public. Tchello said that was difficult to guess who would win the test, because all the pilots had a good performance. "The victory of Ross Champion surprised everybody, but it was deserved", said.

The free ride is a new sport yet, so face many difficult, like a sponsorship. "It is very complicated obtain sponsorship to a new sport", says Tchello. The free ride has to improve, and the world championship is the principal championship of the category. "Many rules are created during the world championship", said.

Tchello said that the organization was very good, and the pilots help to maintain the organization. "It is a competition, but beyond this is good to be with friends, and the pilots are always talking and laughing. They help us and help themselves, that is more important", tell.
